Benhaven Wins Business Plan Competition Prize

Benhaven was awarded a prize this spring (2003) through a competition sponsored jointly by the Goldman Sachs Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trusts. The competition, which was conducted by the Yale School of Management, was for non-profit organizations who were starting up, or at least considering starting up, profit-making ventures. The prize, which was one of four second place prizes, was $25,000 on cash and $19,000 worth of consultation services. There were four grand prizes, each with an award of $100,000.

The competition focused on the business plans of the ventures. Benhaven's venture was our consulting group, Benhaven's Learning Network. Over six hundred non-profit agencies entered the 2002/2003 competition. See our executive summary to get a sense of what was required for the competition.
